The professionals most valued and sought after by organizations are those who can communicate their ideas and values to their colleagues and clients; who can instill enthusiasm for a good idea, influence others to support their projects, and persuade them to see alternate perspectives. Everyone has the power to influence the growth and direction of an organization by showing others why an idea can contribute to the organization's development. This seminar shows you how to develop the skills to share your ideas and perspectives - to plan, prepare and deliver oral presentations that will reach specific audiences. |

Although we don't often realize it, nothing ever gets accomplished in organizations without communications. We lead, manage, delegate, arrange, create, participate and take care of our daily responsibilities all by means of communication. In fact, communication is so central to our work that we tend to take it for granted. What we tend to take less for granted is the relationship between effective communication and quality results. Communication can be a potent and direct form of action - a precise and effective resource for creating opportunities, initiating actions, resolving breakdowns, and building relationships. In most communication courses, people expect to learn tips and techniques for improving their skills. This particular course is quite different - we will be looking at the technology of communication, and the fundamental issues underlying the tips and techniques found in most other courses. In looking at these basics, we will see all the things that we tend to take for granted. By understanding the basics we have more access to creating the results we want to create in our world. |
|
In revealing the fundamentals of communication you will have more access to create your intended results. You will learn to:
|
| See how our prevailing views of communication, organization and work | ||
| blind us to what is really going on. | ||
| Explore the essential conversations that are required in order to produce | ||
| results and apply these to your work. | ||
| Distinguish the difference between observation and story, an essential | ||
| skill in solving problems. | ||
| Be able to use information more effectively in making decisions. | ||
| Learn how to listen to others so that you are able to coordinate action | ||
| with them more effectively. | ||
| Be better able to distinguish what others are committed to and make the | ||
| power of commitment work for you and your organization. | ||
| Be equipped to diagnose and take action in areas of your work where | ||
| you are currently dissatisfied or are committed to a larger possibility than what is currently there. | ||
| See the connection between communication and customer satisfaction. | ||
| Learn how to build and maintain trust in relationships. |
"I truly enjoyed the course. Throughout the two days you maintained my attention and provided very good ideas and techniques to observe and listen."
"I think I will be able to apply your ideas with my future endeavours."
"I feel that the success of this course lies in the instructor; Donalda was organized and made the student feel comfortable."
